Description
Castelnuovo Rangone, Castelvetro di Modena, Savignano sul Panaro, Spilamberto, Vignola
came together under the name of Unione Terre di Castelli in september 2001 with the specific aim of bringing their characteristic products and urban areas into the limelight.
Emilia has long been a world-famous region for traditions connected to its gastronomy and hospitality. This fame merely confirms the high standards of the regional produce within global markets. Therefore, the spirit of the competition is not only related to urban planning - it is about a widespread system of highlighting the values of the different historical centres even by means of symbols connected to the particular areas, segments of urban life as well as services. Natural shopping centres are spontaneous forms of reality which - by means of this initiative - will become reality or, on the other hand, more recognizable commercial structures that have been equipped and served as well or even better than artificial shopping centres.
Indeed, historical town or village centres represent the best networks - structures - for commercial activity, free time and consumption - as well as for their ability to bring together boutiques, shops, housing, free time and culture in a positive way. As a matter of fact, nowadays artificial shopping centres have a tendency to organize themselves in such a way as to imitate as much as possible the urban set-ups belonging to the old centres in historical small towns. The members of the Union wish you the very best of luck in your work...
