Description
The Prize was created to remember Barbara and what she left us during her 22 years of life through the understanding of the deep and intimate connection existing between architecture and everyday life.
The purpose of the Prize is to bring out the centrality and responsibility of architecture in the process of landscape modification, through the tools of the project, holding together the different staircases: architecture, city, territory, with particular respect to the urban outskirts. The Prize seletcts and promotes the works of architecture, urban retraining/ regeneration that distinguish themselves for:
- the finality of the beauty, of the artistic and cultural value of the places;
- the improvement of the social cohesion, by spaces of civil sharing to favour the recognition of the different identity values and the relationship with artistic and cultural dimension;
- the pursuit of the quality as sphere including environmental quality, (both sensorial and emotional), attention to the human scale, innovative design and construction, appropriate use of materials and structures, study of constructive details, combination of aesthetic and quality, functionality and sustainability
The Prize and the International Conferences, which are the most important events of the 9th Barbara Cappochin Biennial, revolve around the same thin thread that indissolubly ties the quality of the life to the quality of the architecture.
