Description
The project consists of developing for the owners of a real estate unit within the SHAMROCK-El Polo Condominium a 2000 square meter park the main function of which will be that of a space for visual contemplation of the landscape, as well as relaxation.
Lima has a subtropical humid climate. It doesn´t rain and there is few water present in other sources. The selected xerifite plants are low water consumers and are adapted to the region where this park is located. They have been extracted from a book called “PAISAJES VERDES CON POCA AGUA – Gardens for Lima and dry-climate cities”. This selection does not represent the total plant list on the book, since it has been taken the specific characteristics of the project. It is recommended to use the plant selection that appears on the attachment (on Excel file at the “download” section), which also contains links to Wikipedia for of them.
The park is located on natural land, and there are no structures beneath. Soil drainage is good, but it is poor in organic material, which demands extra soil nutrients, and it is very important to plant species that don´t require high maintenance.
The main structure of the park is present on trees and connifers, and palm trees. For its location, it is important to consider the space that each of them need to grow, and also de present of the surrounding buildings, which apartments need natural light.
It is recommended to plant shrubs, herbaceous, groundcovers, vines, grasses, cactuses and succulents, both for aesthetic as for ecological purposes, considering that grass will demand four times more water for its maintenance.
Besides the landscape design, it can be combined with a proposal of technical watering and lighting.
