Target Field The work must be a newly created, unpublished work. There is no limitation on the number of works, but one work cannot be submitted to more than one section.

Description
The International Design Competition is organized in association with CUMULUS KYOTO 2008 International Design Conference, which will be held in Kyoto in March 2008. This competition is open to students of Cumulus member schools and students of undergraduate, graduate and advanced vocational schools for art and design in the host country Japan. “Regardless of genre, ‘Happiness’ is the ultimate goal behind designs which are continuously being created all over the world.” This is the overall theme of the competition, under which the organizer invites proposals that reflect the student’s point of view, and presents awards to those students who come up with revolutionary, enterprising, and innovative proposals. These design proposals should not relate just to forms, styles, descriptions or expressions. It is expected that they should be of a suitable standard for public exhibition at the International Design Conference and should have some impact on the international design world.

Target Work
Application categories range widely over graphics, products, interiors, textiles, crafts, environments, architectures, media, images, and so on. The categories are not established design categories. Fresh design proposals under the above themes are welcomed.

Still and moving images: Maximum of five files in total. Files for one work should be limited to a total of 2.5MB. synopsis of the work’s concept.
