Description
The International Architectural Restoration Prize entitled “Fassa Bortolo Domus restoration and preservation”, conceived and promoted in 2010 by Fassa S.r.l., owners of the “Fassa Bortolo” brand, and by the Ferrara University Department of Architecture to celebrate its twentieth anniversary, was established for the purpose of rewarding and promoting to the public at large architectural restoration works that have managed to best interpret the preservation principles shared by the scientific community, including through the use of contemporary forms of expression.
1) “Undergraduate, Graduate, Master, PhD, and Graduate School Theses” section
Candidacies to the Award “Undergraduate, Graduate, Master, PhD, and Graduate School Theses" can be submitted by single participants or by groups that have discussed a "thesis" within the last five years, after completing their studies with a University Degree in Architecture, Engineering-Architecture, or equivalent educational courses.
As specified in the title, Undergraduate, Graduate, Master, PhD, and Graduate School “Theses” can compete.
If case of Undergraduate and Graduate Thesis, the candidate must have obtained a mark superior or equal to 100/110. Theses having as supervisor or co-supervisor Professors teaching at the Architecture Department - University of Ferrara for the academic year 2015/2016 cannot participate to the competition.
2) “Special Prize for International Education”
Candidacies to the Special Award for International Education are open to Professors/Lecturers in charge of coordinating or teaching a University course, within the fields of Restoration or Design, in historical foreign context; they will have the chance to submit a selection of works developed within such courses during the last 3 years.
Coordinators, Directors, Professors, and Lecturers appointed for teaching conservative disciplines in an international Undergraduate, Graduate, Master, Graduate School or Workshop (even a brief one) can participate.

- The winner: Euros 3,000 (and a gold medal)
- The runners-up (2): Euros 2,000 each (and silver medals)
The Special Prize for International Education: Euros 1,000
