SKIN asks designers and researchers to speculate, or if they so choose - to present existing research - on the role of the building envelope by exploring new methods to enable the performative and aesthetic qualities of a façade.

Prize
In the first stage a total of 4 selections that will be awarded a 1000 USD stipend to further develop their project in a scale mode. Each winning team will have the opportunity to work with a nationally recognized metal fabricator for research and prototyping purposes. For the second stage, the models with revised boards will be exhibited October 24-­‐ 27 at *ACADIA 2013, (a shipping fee stipend of 250 USD will be provided), during which the second round jury will announce a winner made public during the conference. The final winning proposal will be paid a 1,000 USD and exhibited in Austin, Texas for the TEX-­‐FAB 5.0 event in February 2014.
