Overview

To encourage pop music creation, patronage performing talents and teams, integrate relevant peripheral industrial development, the R.O.C. plans to build a large pop music performing center in Taipei with outdoor performing plaza and relevant measures. It is aimed to support development of the pop music industry in Taiwan with the goal of becoming the leading center of the Chinese creative music development internationally and for industrial experiment. The government is now actively pushing for the Taipei Pop Music Center construction plan.

Description
With an area of approximately 7.65 hectares, the center base is located in Nangang District, Taipei City, nearby the MRT Kunyang Station.
The principal space design comprises of an indoor performing hall with 4500-6000 seats, an outdoor performing space with 15000 standing seats, hall of fame, a digital library, a medium and small indoor exhibition and performing live house, industrial communities and incubation space, etc.

We cordially invite outstanding design teams at home and abroad to custom design a unique performing space for Taiwan’s pop music operation and development by taking into consideration all music types and the development trend of international pop music.
We hope through clustering and trans-border performance will form the core of industrial development in the future. All interested architects and design teams are welcome to participate in this competition and fully bring into play their passionate design and creativity.

The total construction budget (direct construction cost) is about NT$3,500,000,000 (about US$106,000,000) including the construction costs of various work items. The tenderer shall use this amount as the basis for estimating construction costs.

The service fee of this Contract is fixed price of NT$ 380,000,000. (about US$11,500,000)

Prize
First Prize will be awarded Planning, Design, and Supervision Rights of this project.

Each of the Short-list Tenderers submitting the Stage Two shall be awarded a prize of NT$1,650,000.

No more than three Short-list Tenderers shall be selected to enter into the Stage Two. Honorable Mentions shall not be more than four entries. Each Honorable Mention winner is entitled to NT$660, 000 rewards.
