Description
The Urban Art Museum is not a building, it is a museum without walls. The artwork of the Urban Art Museum is scattered throughout the built environment, and is designed to strengthen the identity of the local community and to bring a greater sense of ownership and awareness of the built environment that we live, work and play in.
The Urban Art Museum has 3 goals:
1. Provide Orlando streets with a free quality art experience: impromptu, meaningful, respectful of the art, artist, audience and its environment.
2. Reclaiming the streets and beautifying neglected areas of the city making them interesting to look at, by transforming eyesores into artworks and even putting them on the map of must-see places for art lovers.
3. Ultimately help bring Orlando where it needs to be as a true cultural city and develop the Urban Art Museum as an international destination for artists and patrons of the arts.
