Description
Urban stops which are locations for crossings form an intersection between the city and cityfolk. Stops are determined sometimes by superior units and sometimes are coded by the society and leave permanant traces in the urban memory. For exactly this reason, urban stops occupy a considerable place in the social memory to form the urban structure, regardless of its scale. Stops which are locations for coming, going away, staying, waiting, monitoring, meeting, gathering, parting and the most important for intersection, create a strong interaction area with its environment. Therefore, it becomes important through which process and by whom this spatial fiction is being created.
The purpose of the event is evaluating and discussing the urban stops as socialising locations in relation with its dynamics that contribute to the city together with the developing technology, instead of considering it as only an industrial product.
The participants are invited to design an urban stop area in a city of their choice, with its function and scale and to present this visually and verbally.
