Description
The Architectural Research Center is an international center of education where the students are allowed to explore within strategies of advanced architectural design. A place where around 200 privileged architecture students exchange knowledge and experiences that go from theoretical/virtual works to production and fabrication in laboratory.
The different areas of advanced design are improved thanks to the professional collaborator staff of other disciplines at the different laboratories, as acoustic engineers, geneticists, chemists, product designers, biologists, etc.
The center pretends to became the paradigm and reference for emergent architecture, and a forum for researchers all over the world. Its design should be according to what it represents.
The site could be whatever, to be chosen by the participant, but is necessary to explain, investigate and justify the choice. It could be interesting if the ARC would solve a particular critical problem or situation in the site.
The designers are free to address the challenge in the most creative, innovative functional and constructible way. Each proposal must respect the actual environment values and the human scale, furthermore must preserve the social context and the existing urban texture.
