A special contest in order to select 24 projects and concepts (12 for young architects and 12 for students) presenting Low cost and Low energy sustainable housing

Description
The presented projects and/or concepts will have to respect following fundamental parameters:
a. The use of sustainable criteria (using well-known evaluating systems) concerning the choice of technologies, materials and constructing methods
b. A special attention to energy efficiency criteria as well in terms of energy savings as in terms of energy contribution. The project introduced by the architects (not by students in architecture) will have to mention the energy performance of the building with reference to (European Energy Performance of Buildings Directive 2002/91/CE)
c. The building costs should not exceed the cost generally admitted - referred to each country - for social housing projects. This point only concerns projects introduced by the category Young architects and not students.
Entries can be presented in 4 categories, with reference to the main construction technology used for the projects: Metal & Glass, Brick, Wood, Concrete

Young architects category:
The winning projects in each category (4): invitation in Bologna at the Saie exhibition
The second and third projects (8): exhibition
Students category:
The winning projects in each category (4): invitation to the workshop "The energy of architecture" held by architect Cucinella
The second and third classified projects (8): exhibition
