Description
The design is an integral part of the new urban and infrastructural arrangement of Bologna metropolitan area, as defined by Territorial Agreement of July 18th 2006, annex No.5 to these Regulations, which aims at achieving and developing a new metropolitan centrality which can be a “qualified, functional and integrated access gate for the town of Bologna and for the metropolitan and regional system”. This aim is expressed in three priority duties that the design shall fulfil:
- to organize the new functions efficiently;
- to redevelop the town fabric surrounding the Railway area;
- to connect town areas separate from each other.

Cost of the work is about 340 million Euro

Timetable
Result of the Preselection: Within 60 days from the deadline of the files participants for the Preselection
Over-the-spot investigation and workshop: Within 30 days from the invitation to take part in the Competition
Inquiries by the participants: Within 30 days from the over-the-spot investigation and workshop
Replies to the participants’ inquiries: Within 30 days from the deadline for the submission of inquiries
Deadline of the Competition stage: On the 120th day following the date of the fax with the invitation to take part in the Competition
Notification of the final results: Within 90 days from the deadline of the Competition stage
