Description
It is well-known that Leonardo Da Vinci was a great master of the Renaissance. He was known by the name of "Almighty man" and "Universal man" because he was a genius at painting, sculpture and construction, natural science and music. In the present age of globalization, the Osaka University of Arts invites entries from all over the world for their International Art Triennial: "Hunt for This Century's Leonardo da Vinci." With the sudden changes in expression and media, and the complex intersection of various fields of expression, where is the art of this century headed? How will new modes of expression address the conflict between tradition and innovation, as well as the problems concerning the regional differences in approaching art? Can there be a reconciliation? How will art continue to develop? Through this exhibition, it is anticipated that the Renaissance of the new century will emerge from Osaka. The Leonardo da Vinci of this century is you.
