Overview

The objective of this competition is to design a new public civic space for Dublin. ‘The Parlour’ will have a strong social cultural and environmental character and have a countrywide profile for holding an intense and varied programme of music and other outdoor events including markets and monster céilís.

Description
The site is immediately adjacent to the O2 indoor arena which attracts anything from 7,000 to 15,000 people per event on up to 200 days of the year. O2 is a state of the art performance space, creatively adapted from the ‘Point Depot’ an iconic, industrial railway shed, converted for concerts and performance generally. Every major world artist plays there.
