Overview

We announces the launch of an international competition that will invite architecture studentsfrom around the world to create imagemodels of examples of significant architectural creativity realised during the 20th century.

Eligibility Students
Target Field The buildings must have been built between 1901 and 2000 and the authorization of the architects, or owners of these buildings for the use of the photographs must have been obtained (letter of accreditation to be included in the e-portfolio).

Description
This competition is an opportunity for the architects of tomorrow to enrich the web index www.archi.fr/UIA with their own expression of an architectural realisation from the last century, using today's design tools.
The image models to be designed for this competition need to be based on digital photographs created using Autodesk® ImageModeler® and Autodesk® Stitcher® Unlimited software.
This software will be made available by Autodesk® to the competitors for use free of charge for the duration of the competition.
Students are free to choose the structure they wish to represent, from a major landmark to an unknown building, with the condition that it was built between 1901 and 2000.
Competitors may participate in one or both of the following categories:
- “Panoramic Imaging” Category: Architectural description based on panoramic images
- “Image-Based-Modeling” Category: Architectural description based on image-based-models

- “Panoramic Imaging” Category: an information sheet concerning the building, an accompanying text of 250 word, a scanned copy of a letter from the architect or the owner of the building, A4 document (4 pages maximum), Panoramic image(s) in QuickTime format, Equirectangular image(s) (spherical projection) of the panoramic images in JPEG, " Autodesk® Stitcher™ Unlimited” file(s) used to create panoramic images
- “Image-Based-Modeling” Category: an information sheet concerning the building, an accompanying text of 250 words, a scanned copy of a letter from the architect or the owner of the building, A4 document (4 pages maximum), an accompanying notice, if the presentation has been fragmented or if the competitor is proposing several 3D models, the photographs used for the creation of the 3D model(s), the folder containing the textures extracted from the photographs in JPEG, "Autodesk® ImageModeler™" file(s)
