Green Square Design Competition: Gunyama Park and Aquatic Centre

We invites architects and landscape architects to enter a design competition to create a new park and aquatic leisure centre for the Green Square area.

Description
To ensure high quality design, the procurement process for the park and aquatic centre will be a two stage open architectural design competition. The competition will be staged in accordance with the Australian Institute of Architects Guidelines for Architectural Competitions and the Australian Landscape Architects Guidelines for the Promotion and Conduct of Competitions.
The first stage will be an open anonymous call for designs, from which five will be short-listed by the jury. In the second stage, the five chosen entrants will prepare more detailed designs from which a final winner will be selected. The community will be given the opportunity to view and comment on all of the Stage 1 designs with a report collating community comments provided to the jury.
The Project Budget is $50,000,000.
The provisional split of this budget comprises:
- $11,500,000 for Stages 1 and 2 of Gunyama Park and associated ancillary works.
- $38,500,000 for the Green Square Aquatic centre (including fitout), and
The budget does not include GST (Goods and Services Tax).
This budget includes consultant’s fees as described in the Competition Conditions.
The Construction Budget (without Fees) is therefore $43,500,000 excluding GST.

Prize
The total lump sum engagement fee for the winning entrant will be $6,500,000 (excluding GST), comprising:
- $2,275,000 (excluding GST) for the Architect’s as Head Design Consultant Team
- $4,225,000 (excluding GST) for the sub-consultant teams
