Description
The NG200 Project will enable the National Gallery to redefine its visitor experience - improving the 'welcome' the Gallery provides to its millions of visitors so that this lives up to the quality of its collection - considered by many the most perfect in the world.
The design brief focuses on the entrance spaces in the Grade I Listed Sainsbury Wing and also includes the creation of a new Research Centre in the main Wilkins Building, and reimagining the relationship between the Gallery and the public realm.
This two-stage selection process will identify an exceptional design team who can work with the Gallery to develop an architectural vision and conceptual approach to a phased five-year programme of works. The first stage is an open, international call for architect-led, multi-disciplinary design teams to demonstrate their relevant skills and experience.
