Nodeul Dream Island Space/ Facility Construction International Design Competition

Design subject is to create music-led cultural platform where the collaboration between various fields occur such as music, cultural art, ecology/environment, eco-friendly, commercial, new media, and development model cooperate and a complex cultural space that any citizen can visit any time.

Description
This competition will be proceeded in three parts: the first Operation Concept Competition, the second Operation Planning/Facility Concept Competition, and the third Space/Facility Construction Competition.
The Operation Concept Competition (1st competition) takes place to select various and creative proposals. This stage asks what kind of dream of society we image and in what form the society can be realized in this island. As our society is not consist with specific professions, it is opened to everyone who is interested in humanities, society, and environment, and their cooperation organization. This is a phase which requires imagination of Gyun Heo, Ji-won Park, or Gil-dong Hong of our time. Multiple proposals will be selected to advance to the next phase, Operation Planning/Facility Concept Competition.
The Operation Planning/Facility Concept Competition (2nd competition) is holding to select the most outstanding and realizable proposal and the operator who will run this proposal based on the multiple selected proposals from the previous competition. Specific programs, which can discover the value of Nodeul Island and realize it, realistically operable organizational system, and financial plan needs to be proposed. The operation plan proposal needs to be confirmed that it is financially self-sufficient and sustainable plan as additional investment from Seoul should be none or minimized after the completion. In addition, basic space utilization concept plan should be reviewed and verified.
The Operation Planning/Facility Concept Competition (2nd competition) is holding to select the most outstanding and realizable proposal and the operator who will run this proposal based on the multiple selected proposals from the previous competition. Specific programs, which can discover the value of Nodeul Island and realize it, realistically operable organizational system, and financial plan needs to be proposed. The Space/Facility Design Competition (3rd competition) is in a format that architecture, landscape, and urban related experts involve and proceed. The purpose is to select a reasonable and specific space utilization proposal which realize selected proposal from Operation Planning/Facility Concept Competition while fully satisfy expected level for scenery required for the city. The most outstanding proposal which translate social imagination into spatial imagination will be the prizewinner and Nodeul Island will be constructed per that proposal. And that will be our Nodeul Dream Island.
