Eligibility The competition is open to all nationalities. It is recommended, however, that at least one member of the design team has good knowledge of the Finnish language because the greater part of the competition material appendixes are only available in Finnish.

Description
The objective of the competition is to find a high-quality idea that functionally takes into consideration the future development potential when implementing the environs of the most central area in Lahti adjacent to the railway line.

The competition must be realised following the objectives of the City of Lahti’s strategies for sustainable development. These include, for instance, urban ecology, energy consumption and the comfort of the surroundings. Lahti’s new “Travel Centre”, the meeting of different traffic systems, and the ecological traffic environment, are an essential part of the competition task.

Further actions after the competition
