開催概要

45歳以下の若手建築家やデザイナーを対象とした登竜門的アワード。若手建築家やデザイナーの台頭を世に知らしめるべく、1999年に Architectural Review誌によって設立された。毎年80を超える国々からの応募がある。都市デザインからカトラリーに至るまで応募対象は非常に幅広い。今年は審査員のひとりに藤本壮介が迎えられている。

Description
The AR Awards for Emerging Architecture is the biggest and best award for young architects in the world and gives £15 000 in prize money. Inaugurated in 1999, it is sponsored by Buro Happold and Wilkhahn. Intended to bring wider international recognition to a talented new generation of architects and designers, the Awards have attracted entries from more than 80 countries, representing every inhabited continent.
Awards are for built or manufactured work only, and besides buildings, the full range of design activity, from landscapes and urban spaces to furniture and cutlery can be submitted.

£15 000 Total, Publication, Lecture and Exhibitions.

Entry Fee
Entry fee for each project submitted is £65 (US$130 or €90) + VAT at 17.5%.

Each entry should be mounted on two A2 sized boards, and must include photography, drawings and, if appropriate, a brief written description in English.

Timetable
- Winner announced: December 2007 issue of The Architectural Review and on the website.
- Awards ceremony: London in late autumn. The winners will be invited to the event.
- Lecture Series: In spring 2008, winners will be invited to give talks on their work at the Royal Institute of British Architects in London as part of the RIBA’s Spring Lecture Series.
