Description
The Connected City Design Challenge is a competitive effort to discover a truly great idea capable of building connection between Downtown Dallas and the Trinity River. The effort is structured using two distinct idea streams or entry categories: a professional stream and an open stream. Each stream will have its own unique submittal requirements, awards, and winners selected through a public vote and esteemed jury.
Launched April 4th 2013, connectedcitydesign.com is the official resource and portal for all The Challenge activities. The effort is scheduled to run through January 2014 with workshops, symposiums, lectures, exhibits, and publications.
The Challenge will build awareness of urban design solutions capable of shaping Dallas forward, develop a more refined and specific strategy for connecting our downtown and river, and assist in securing future public and private investment. By empowering both designers and citizens, we work to realize integrated solutions that improve the livability and viability of our city.
