Description
To expand and improve the level of public library services in Seoul, and to build the best public library befitting the status of Seoul as a global city.
To build a public library with an open community space and GLAM (Gallery, Library, Archive, Museum) space open for use by anyone, flexibly responding to a rapidly changing society and reflecting the specialized and diversified needs of citizens.
To build a futuristic library that reflects an eco-friendly vision, including digital services that integrate and manage data from libraries in Seoul using advanced technology, low-carbon hybrid construction methods such as wooden structure construction, and an ecological reading garden.
This is a Seoul City pilot project for eco-friendly wooden construction to reduce carbon emissions, and applies hybrid construction methods including wood structures and energy saving, eco-friendly technologies to building plans (large and open spaces, etc.).
The purpose of this design competition is to select an optimal design plan that is creative, feasible, and meets the requirements.

- Building coverage : 60% or less / Floor area ratio 200% or less/ Height 40m or less
- Estimated construction cost : 164 ,875,000,000 KRW (including V AT)
